At 10:30 a.m. on 23rd May 2024, Sanfu shipyard held a grand naming and delivery ceremony for "BBC LEER", the first vessel of 11,000DWT series of MPC, at No.3 quay of Sanfu shipyard.

At the ceremony site, firecrackers and drums were cracking, representatives of ship owner, BV classification society and Sanfu shipyard attended the ceremony to witness this exciting moment.

This series of vessels is another green, low-carbon and high-efficiency multi-purpose vessel model created by Sanfu shipyard after 12500DWT multi-purpose vessel, which is jointly designed by Sanfu shipyard and Holland design company, and up to now Sanfu shipyard and the ship owner have signed the order for a total of 15 vessels of this vessel type in force. The vessel is driven by single fixed pitch propeller and low speed diesel engine, with two 250T deck cranes on the port side of the deck, and the maximum combined lifting weight reaches 500T. In order to make the ship more flexible and convenient for loading and transporting cargoes, the most notable feature of the ship is that the topside construction is arranged to the bow, and the depth of the cargo hold is also greatly deepened, so as to maximise the capacity of a single cabin in the cargo hold and the open area of the open deck. The ship is equipped with two second decks, which can be flexibly adjusted in five positions up and down, and the cargo suitability has been greatly improved.
