On the afternoon of 21st June 2024, the first 1300TEU dual-fuel (methanol) container ship built by Sanfu shipyard for Norway ship owner was successfully launched at 2# platform.
The ship has an overall length of 149.95m, a plumbline length of 147.25m, a beam of 26.80m, a depth of 14.6m, a design draught of 8.00m, a maximum DWT of 18,700 tonnes, a design speed of 18 knots, and it has entered the DNV classification society.
The ship is developed and designed by Shanghai merchant ship design & research Institute(SDARI), with high-grade "NUAT (AW)" and "Recyclable" classification symbols, will mainly serve in the North Sea and along the Norwegian coastline, relying on the route of the green methanol plant, will establish a "green methanol plant" in Northern Europe, and will be able to operate in the North Sea. It will establish a "green corridor" in Northern Europe, achieving carbon neutrality in the whole life cycle and operation area; the ship's EEDI energy efficiency index fully meets the requirements of IMO rules phase III.
