Naming of Two 3500TEU Container Ships and Successful Delivery of the First Production Vessel by Sanfu Shipbuilding

At 9:00 a.m. on 22nd August 2024, two 3500TEU dual-fuel (LNG+MGO) container sister vessels built by Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. for the German shipowner were grandly named at the company's wharf, and at the same time a signing and delivery ceremony was held for the first vessel in the series, which was attended by representatives of the shipowner, DNV Classification Society, as well as Sanfu Shipbuilding, etc., witnessing this representatives of ship owner, DNV classification society and SF ship representatives attended the ceremony and witnessed this historic moment together.

The ship has an overall length of 248.00 metres, an inter-drape length of 236.50 metres, a beam of 35.20 metres, a depth of 19.2 metres, a design draught of 11.00 metres, a maximum DWT of 51,000 tonnes, a maximum capacity of 3,666 TEU containers, a design speed of 19.5 knots, and is entered into the DNV Classification Society.

This series of 3,500TEU dual-fuel container ship is designed by HB HUNTE design company of Germany and adopts bow type arrangement. The main engine of the vessel is MAN B&W 7S70ME-C10.5 GI HPSCR, and the main fuels are LNG and MGO. The vessel is the first to adopt the double C-type vertical gas storage tanks, which is the world's largest ship-loaded vertical gas tanks up to now. The vessel can carry more than 1,000 reefer containers and is equipped with a reefer monitoring system. The EEDI index of the vessel meets and exceeds the latest industry standards, and its environmental performance far exceeds the current standards.

During the construction process of this series of vessels, SF shipyard communicated efficiently with the owner's supervision team in the shipyard and DNV Classification Society, overcame the high temperature for many days, and jointly promoted the project progress, so as to realise that the first dual-fueled vessel completed the sea trial in 6 days, and the delivery was completed one week after the end of the sea trial, which was a new delivery record for SF shipyard!

After the naming ceremony, the guests who participated in the ceremony happily boarded the vessel for a visit. Representatives of the shipowner and classification society were full of praise for the spacious interior space, reasonable cabin arrangement, advanced power system and precise instrumentation of this series of vessels, and they expressed their heartfelt affirmation and appreciation for the quality and progress of the construction of this series of vessels.

After the naming ceremony, the first fabricated vessel ‘SEABOARD VOYAGER’ will start her maiden voyage.
